Schenectady, NY (October 22, 2019) – Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady guests are invited to ring in 2020 at their largest event of the year, A Roaring New Year’s Eve, with the Capital Region’s premier horn-fueled party band, Funk Evolution. The perfect way to close out 2019, this unforgettable funkadelic dance party will be held at the Rivers Casino & Resort Event Center on Tuesday, December 31. Admission to A Roaring New Year’s Eve with Funk Evolution includes live music, dancing, snacks, two drink tickets, and a glittering 1920’s-inspired ambiance, all topped off with a champagne toast at midnight.
Tickets to A Roaring New Year’s Eve with Funk Evolution are $50 (pre-purchase) and are on sale now. Tickets are available at riverscasinoandresort.com, tickets.proctors.org or the Proctors Theater Box Office in Schenectady. Doors open at 10 p.m., with the party going until 1 a.m. Tickets will also be available at the door for $60 on the night of the event.
Funk Evolution is a nine-piece Funk, R & B, and Soul horn band featuring some of the area’s most recognizable musical personalities. Fueled by the musical stylings of such groups as Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, and Chicago, Funk Evolution’s take on modern groups, including The Dave Matthews Band, Jason Mraz, and Maroon 5, provides an exciting soundstage for genuinely innovative versions of today’s hottest music.

Started at the age of thirteen with a crate of his big brother’s records, Mat was introduced to an eclectic mix of music that has influenced his take on House Music. Releasing on a range of different labels including Derrick Carter’s Persnickety All Stars, he has gained support from DJs such as Kerri Chandler (dropping “Everybody Rise” on his “Essential Mix – Live from Lovebox”), Laurent Garnier, Black Madonna, Maya Jane Coles & Dubfire among others. Between continuing his 5 year running party CLUB CONGRESS, fronting his nu label CLUBBY BOY & growing LIBERTY CLUB, a loft inspired function with Rich Medina, 2020 is looking to be an exciting year for the American producer.
